Solana Vista - Gordon Korman Book Club and Writer's Workshop

Summer Enrichment / Summer Enrichment - Solana Vista 2025 -
2025 Summer Enrichment

Join us in the love of literacy with book club and writer’s workshop time. We will focus on books by Gordon Korman, who wrote his first published book at the age of 12! He has written over 100 books, including Restart, Ungifted, and Unplugged. Students will learn about the author, read his novels, and participate in small group discussions. We will create our writing pieces while practicing skills such as using figurative language, editing, and revising. If you enjoy hearing, reading, discussing, and creating good stories, this is the place for you!

  • All students will initially be placed on a waiting list. Students will be added to classes beginning April 28, 2025, in priority order as follows:

  2. Current SBSD student or will be enrolled in SBSD in the fall of 2025
  3. Students residing outside SBSD boundaries
  • Once priority 1 students have been placed, priority 2 students will be admitted in the order registrations were received, followed by priority 3 students until classes reach capacity.
  • Due to statewide funding enhancement, SBSD can offer summer enrichment courses for one-year only (2025) at a reduced fee of $350 per student. Some classes may require an additional fee for supplies.
