Step into the spotlight! Get ready to unleash your creativity, amplify your voice, and make a difference in your community! Students will explore digital design using Canva, producing broadcasting projects that blend creativity with service. Learn the basics of storytelling, video production, and editing as you create your own podcast & video projects. Whether passionate about art, current events, tech support, or helping others, this course combines hands-on design skills with real-world applications, fostering creativity and community connection.

  • All students will initially be placed on a waiting list. Students will be added to classes beginning April 28, 2025, in priority order as follows:
  1. SBSD student who qualifies for the *Expanded Learning Opportunity Program (ELO-P). Please visit our website to see if your child qualifies for the ELO-P.
  2. Current SBSD student or will be enrolled in SBSD in the fall of 2025
  3. Students residing outside SBSD boundaries
  • Once priority 1 students have been placed, priority 2 students will be admitted in the order registrations were received, followed by priority 3 students until classes reach capacity.
  • Due to statewide funding enhancement, SBSD can offer summer enrichment courses for one year only (2025) at a reduced fee of $350 per student. Some classes may require an additional fee for supplies.
  • Summer Enrichment will run from June 11—July 11, from 8:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
  • Holidays (no classes): June 19, June 20, and July 4

  • The Child Development Center (CDC) will offer childcare from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday – Friday. A separate registration and fee are required. Please click on CDC Summer Programs Childcare to register.
  • Financial assistance/aid may be available for summer enrichment and childcare through the ELO-P. Please contact the CDC or visit our website to see if you qualify. You may also email cdc@sbsd.net to request the childcare fee schedule and ELO-P eligibility information.
  • *The Expanded Learning Opportunity Program (ELO-P) is funded through Assembly Bill 130 and provides after-school and intersession learning programs for qualifying students. Scholarships are available for families that qualify. Space is limited and based on program capacity. Click here for an application.
