Academic Clubs are open to ONLY 4th-6th graders in the Solana Beach School District at Skyline, Solana Highlands, Solana Pacific, Solana Ranch, and Solana Santa Fe.
The Solana Beach School District Band is open to all fourth through sixth graders in the Solana Beach School District.
The Summer Academy is a program extended by invitation only to select Solana Beach School District students.
**YOUR CHILD MUST BE A CURRENT SOLANA BEACH ADVANCED BAND STUDENT TO ATTEND THIS FIELD TRIP.
Advanced Band: Students will get to Disney's California Adventure park and enjoy rides as well as attend this workshop: "Soundtrack Sessions” This workshop requires a very solid level of sight reading. Instrumental students experience the excitement of a working recording studio, where professional Clinicians present sight-reading techniques, performance concepts, and the entire process for laying down music tracks. Taught by industry composers, arrangers, conductors, or studio musicians, the 90-minute workshop culminates with a reveal of the students' hard work - a screening of their recorded score, set to the original Disney film footage! Students will work in a studio - there will be no public performance or audience in the workshop.
